- 1 loaf challah or brioche bread, cubed
- 2 cups fresh or thawed blueberries
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Place the cubed bread in the baking dish and scatter the blueberries over it.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the custard mixture over the bread and blueberries ensuring everything is soaked; let it sit for at least 30 minutes or overnight in the refrigerator.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown on top and the custard has set.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving warm with maple syrup and whipped cream if desired.
