- 8 slices thick bread
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter (for cooking)
Instructions
- In a bowl, beat cream cheese with 1 tablespoon sugar until smooth. Fold in half the strawberries and set aside.
- Cut pockets into each bread slice and fill them with the cream cheese mixture.
- Whisk together eggs, milk, remaining sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until smooth.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat; melt butter. Dip stuffed bread into the egg mixture and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Serve hot with powdered sugar, remaining strawberries, and maple syrup.
