  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until smooth.
  3. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 15 minutes until edges are set but center remains slightly undercooked.
  4. While baking, prepare the filling by beating together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in chopped strawberries.
  5. Remove the cake from the oven and spread the cream cheese mixture over it evenly. Cover with remaining batter.
  6. Bake for an additional 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top during the last 5 minutes.
