Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl.
- Stir in shredded cheese and chopped herbs until well combined.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Make a well in the center and add buttermilk; mix gently until just combined.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and shape into a circle about 1-inch thick; cut into wedges or rounds.
- Place scones on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
