Ingredients
- 4 slices of bread (sourdough, white, or whole wheat)
- 2 tbsp butter (softened)
- ½ cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 12 slices turkey pepperoni (or your preferred topping)
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread. Sprinkle the buttered side with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
- On a flat surface, place two slices of bread buttered side down. Spread marinara sauce on the inside, then layer with mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, turkey pepperoni, and any additional toppings.
- Top with the remaining bread slices (buttered side up).
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat and cook sandwiches for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Remove from heat, let cool slightly, slice in half, and garnish with fresh basil if desired. Serve with extra marinara sauce for dipping.
