Ingredients
- Boneless chicken breast
- Thick-cut turkey bacon
- Sourdough bread
- Fresh lettuce
- Ripe tomatoes
- Mayonnaise
- Fresh herbs (such as basil, parsley, or dill)
- Garlic
Instructions
- Season boneless chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and your preferred herbs. Let them rest at room temperature for 10 minutes.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook thick-cut turkey bacon until crispy (about 6-8 minutes). Drain on paper towels and reserve 1 tablespoon of fat.
- In the same skillet, heat reserved turkey bacon fat and cook seasoned chicken breasts for 6-7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (165°F). Allow to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Mix mayonnaise with minced garlic and chopped fresh herbs in a bowl; season with salt and pepper.
- Toast sourdough bread slices until golden brown using a toaster or broiler.
- Assemble the sandwich by spreading herb mayo on each slice of toast. Layer fresh lettuce, sliced tomatoes, sliced chicken, and crispy bacon before topping with another slice of bread.
