Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 large yellow onions, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- 4 brioche hamburger buns
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium-low heat, melt the butter. Add sliced onions and cook slowly, stirring occasionally for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and caramelized. Season with salt and pepper.
- Push the onions to one side and add the ground beef to the other side of the skillet. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes.
- Mix together the ground beef and onions. Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder; simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.
- If desired, lightly toast brioche buns before assembling.
- Spoon the beef mixture onto the bottom halves of the buns and top each with a slice of provolone cheese. Broil for 1-2 minutes until melted and bubbly before serving.
