- 1 lb flank steak (or skirt steak)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup chicken stock
- 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 teaspoons ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons apple vinegar (or dry apple juice)
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
Instructions
- Slice the beef against the grain into thin pieces and marinate with soy sauce, oil, and cornstarch for 10 minutes.
- Combine chicken stock, soy sauce, vinegar, and sugar in a bowl to create the sauce.
- Steam broccoli for about one minute until just tender, then set aside.
- In a skillet, cook marinated beef until browned on one side; flip and briefly cook until pink inside.
- Add garlic and ginger to release flavors before returning broccoli to the pan.
- Pour in the prepared sauce and stir until thickened. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
