Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar for filling
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon for filling
  • 3 tablespoons softened butter for filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese for frosting
  • 1/4 cup butter for frosting
  • 2 cups powdered sugar for frosting
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for frosting

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together warm milk, mashed bananas, melted butter, and egg.
  2. Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.

  4. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter and sprinkle brown sugar mixed with cinnamon over the surface. Roll tightly into a log.
  5. Cut the log into equal pieces and place in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise again for about 30-45 minutes until puffy.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. While baking, prepare the frosting by beating cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Frost warm rolls before serving.
