Ingredients
- 4 thick slices of slightly stale white bread
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- Pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
- 3 tbsp butter
- Maple syrup (for serving)
Instructions
- Trim crusts from bread slices and cut each into 9 cubes.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and salt until combined.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
- Melt 1.5 tbsp butter in a fry pan over medium-high heat.
- Dip half the bread cubes in the egg mixture and place them in the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
- Immediately transfer cooked bites into the cinnamon-sugar mixture and toss to coat.
- Repeat with remaining bread cubes.
- Serve warm with maple syrup for dipping.
