- 8 oz short pasta (like macaroni or shells)
- 1 round Boursin cheese
- 1 cup grated white cheddar cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and whisk in flour to form a roux. Cook for about a minute.
- Gradually stir in heavy cream and milk until slightly thickened.
- Remove from heat; add Boursin cheese and cheddar, stirring until melted and smooth.
- Combine the sauce with the pasta until fully coated.
- (Optional) For a baked version, transfer to a baking dish, top with breadcrumb mixture, and bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes.
